Midnight Sun Kayak Overnight in Lofoten
Midnight Sun Kayak Overnight in Lofoten
Sleep under the Arctic sky on a remote island
Spend the night on a remote island under the midnight sun—or beneath the dancing northern lights. This is not just a tour. It’s a raw, unforgettable Arctic experience.
The Journey Begins
At 18:00 in Eggum, we meet at our base and start with a short introduction: how to paddle, how to steer, and how to pack your kayak. This overnight kayaking tour in Lofoten is designed for everyone—no experience needed.
Then we launch.
We paddle through the protected waters of the Eggum nature reserve, surrounded by small islands, birdlife, and untouched Arctic landscape. The sea is often calm, shallow, and glowing in shades of turquoise.
After 1.5–2 hours, we reach a remote island—no crowds, no boats, no other companies. Just you, your group, and the Arctic wilderness.
A Night Like No Other
We set up camp in a simple and authentic way, then prepare dinner together over an open fire.
There are no tents.
You sleep in warm sleeping bags with bivy covers, directly under the sky.
Depending on the season, that sky might be:
- Golden and endless under the midnight sun
Fog, soft rain, or sunshine—every version of this night is unforgettable.
Sleep might be optional when the sun never sets.
Morning in the Arctic
Wake up to complete silence. Take a refreshing dip in the Arctic sea if you dare.
After breakfast, we paddle back along a different route, enjoying new views before returning to Eggum around 10:00.
